The new model Opel Insignia gets some upgrade that include the broader availability of the 1.4-liter and 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engines in more markets across Europe and new technology systems.

That means that Opel Insignia will roll out the new engine options to all markets across Europe with the 2012 Insignia. Starting from the 250HP (184kW) 2.0-liter Turbo accelerates the Insignia 4×4 from zero to 100km/h) in 7.5 seconds and on to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). It consumes 8.9 lt/100 km (26.4mpg US) on average with CO2 emissions of 209g/km.

It result the 220HP 2.0-liter Turbo Opel Insignia with front-wheel drive and six-speed manual transmission, with a start/stop system, aerodynamic underbody paneling and rolling-resistance-optimized tires, all of which will help reduce fuel consumption by 0.5 to 7.6 liters per 100km and CO2 emissions from 189g/km to 179g/km.

Contiued for a new 1.4-liter Turbo petrol that replaces the naturally aspirated 1.8-liter unit with the same output, as well as a new 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol for the 4×4 model with 30 more horses for a total of 250HP, we know for a fact that both engines were already available in certain market.

The engine 1.4-liter Turbo ecoFLEX on Opel Insignia offers rich a 0-100km/h (62mph) sprint time of 10.9 seconds and a top speed of 205km/h, while returning a combined fuel efficiency of 5.9lt/100km (39.9mpg US with CO2 emissions of 134g/km.

2011 Mini Countryman

Mini is embarking on a proliferation binge, with its lineup doubling from the three models offered today—three-door hatch, convertible, and extended Clubman—to six within the next couple years. With a roadster and coupe just around the corner, a crossover, previewed by the Crossover and Beachcomber concepts, is also on the way. After many confusing reports of possible names here and there and everywhere, we now know it will be called the Countryman, at least in some places, the U.S. included.

Our first official look at photos of the Countryman has us breathing a collective sigh of relief. Although the beefed-up visual elements of the front end carry over from the two concepts, the detailing surrounding them has been toned down. Mini’s signature styling elements—a softly rounded body tub; an upright, blacked-out greenhouse; the angle-cut hood opening—translate very nicely to a crossover, and we are pleased to see that the Clubman’s contrasting rear trim remains exclusive to that model. The stance and taller hood add just enough toughness to set the crossover apart from Mini’s other offerings without looking contrived.

Inside will be more of the same, which is fine with us. The more toggle switches automakers use instead of black plastic buttons, the merrier. Four individual seats will be standard, with a three-across rear bench a no-cost option. Rear seats will slide fore and aft —the bench in a 60/40 split —and fold individually (or in 40/20/40 increments with the bench). Between both the front and rear seats runs the center-rail system seen on the Crossover and Beachcomber concepts, to which Mini affixes cup holders, armrests, and other "travel utensils." The interior otherwise appears to be standard Mini fare, and there is no artificial-horizon gauge, as there was on the Beachcomber concept.

Mechanical specifications will be identical to the rest of the Mini range, with other parts of the world seeing a choice of five engines split between diesel and gasoline power. We'll see our usual naturally aspirated or turbocharged 1.6-liter inline-fours, although both engines will be updated with more power: 121 hp for the naturally aspirated motor and 181 for the turbo. Those engines will replace the current mills in all 2011 Minis. Additionally, front-wheel drive will be standard, but Mini’s new all-wheel-drive system, known as ALL4, will debut as an option on the Countryman. Other optional equipment will include a panoramic sunroof, adaptive xenon headlights, wheels ranging from 16 to 19 inches, a sport suspension that lowers the car about 0.4 inch, and the full range of John Cooper Works performance upgrades. We imagine that a factory JCW performance edition will also appear.

2012 Audi Q5 Hybrid Quattro

This year Audi rolls out a number of hybrid models into its popular and well engineered lineup. For 2012 the Audi Q5 hybrid Quattro combines the performance of a six-cylinder with the fuel economy of a four-cylinder.

The Q5 powered by a 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine producing 211 hp and an electric motor producing 54 hp. This combination provides for a system output of 245 hp. The powertrain combination can deliver up to 34 mpg, Audi says. The Audi Q5 Quattro comes with permanent all-wheel drive standard.

During the development process, Audi focused on a high share of electrically powered driving. Thus the system can allow the Q5 to drive at a constant speed of up to 37 mph and up to a top speed of 62 mph on electric power alone.

Exterior cues identifying the Q5 hybrid quattro are badges on the sides and on the rear, the single-frame grille painted in high-gloss black, the exclusive body color Arctic Silver, 19-inch wheels in a ten-arm turbine design and chrome trims on the tailpipes.

The headlights are optionally available with xenon plus lamps and LED daytime running lights, in which case the rear lights also use LEDs.

The body of the Audi Q5 hybrid quattro contains a high proportion of high-strength and ultra-high-strength steel components. These reduce weight while simultaneously improving crash safety, rigidity and vibrational behavior. The front seat belt force limiters and airbags act together in a new, highly intelligent way.

Inside, the Q5 hybrid quattro presents a variation on Audi’s clear, elegant design language. The cockpit has a bias towards the driver; its controls can be operated with intuitive ease. The new display concept with the power meter shows the driver the overall output of the system on a scale from 0 to 100 percent. At the same time, the large MMI monitor also shows the operating states. Audi says the switch between electric and conventional drive is imperceptible.

Its ESP stabilization system incorporates new functions that the competition is unable to match. For instance, the ESP has a sensor that identifies when a roof rack is mounted and then knows that the Audi Q5 hybrid quattro’s center of gravity is higher.

The standard hill descent assist makes driving down steep slopes safer by holding the speed below 18 mph. The ESP and ABS have special mapped characteristics for offroad driving. The ESP emphasizes maximum traction in off-road conditions. The ABS automatically identifies the surface conditions and selects the ideal control strategy for sand, gravel or mud.

The Audi Q5 Hybrid Quattro goes on sale in the 4th quarter in the EU and should follow in the US sometime shortly after that.

2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse

The Mitsubishi Eclipse can be described as a entry-level sports car, with its sporty teenager looks and less than reliable history. However, The 2012 eclipse may save some face.

Lets start with some specs. The Eclipse comes in 2 different engine configurations, but four overall models. The GS, GS Sport, and SE will come with a 2.4 liter aluminum headed MI-VEC i4 engine. Power ratings for it stand at 162 hp and 162 ft-lb torque. Now, if you happen to be someone other than a teenager just out of high school you may want the Eclipse GT. It is mated with a 3.8 liter aluminum headed MI-VEC V6 engine. What could be worth the youngster put downs? 265 horse power! of course there’s torque to go with that too, 262 ft-lbs to be exact. Sadly, when it comes to the transmission, the GT only comes with a 4-speed automatic and the only model to come with optional manual 5-speed is the GS. Who ever decided to make the GT automatic should be at the very least poked in the eye. Gas mileage is less than eye-opening as well with an estimated 20 city and 28 highway. With all this disappointment comes some good news. Mitsubishi has decided to install 650 watts of audio equipment from Rockford Fosgate into every model except the GS.

As written out in my earlier statements the Eclipse is and has been an entry-level sports car, which in other words means it’s a teenager’s beater car. The engine will only give the driver enough juice to get to 80 while the transmission won’t let you get to the left-lane of the interstate. The interior is meant more for the simple-minded with its blue gauges and lack of digital instrumentation. When it comes to the 2012 Mitsubishi Eclipse, we are sad to say we’ll pass. Now if they were more like the 1999 Eclipse version, with an added turbo, we may reconsider.

2012 Fiat 500

The 2012 Fiat 500 is no stranger to the enthusiast. We've been waiting for it for years. But now that it's finally here, is it worth the wait? Mostly, yes. It's a stylish, fun-to-drive, efficient and modern little car--but it leaves a little to be desired as yet. Accordingly, MotorAuthority rates it 6 out of 10.

Don't get us wrong. The 2012 Fiat 500 has a lot going for it, particularly as a much more attractive, entertaining, and, in many ways, refined, alternative to the current American and Asian minicar competition. Where it comes up short is where it matters most to the enthusiast, and that's why we downgrade it a bit.

Performance, first and foremost, is a very mixed bag. In one hand, it's a light, surprisingly nimble, and well-balanced chassis. On the other, the steering is beyond dreadful in its lack of feel. We'd even go so far as to say it is the least-connected car we've driven this year, particularly once you push the pace past six or seven tenths. Approach a full ten-tenths run and you probably won't again. It's not rewarding, it's hard to predict, and it just isn't enjoyable at the limit. The brakes are really quite good, though.

Around town, in easier driving, it's a different story. The Fiat 500 has enough pep to be fun, flowing easily with traffic for the most part, and even handling interstate romps pretty well. It's handy, can be parked almost anywhere, and it's really, very cute. It will get noticed.

You'll notice its efficient little 101-horsepower, 1.4-liter four-cylinder at the pump, too. Rated at 40 mpg, it's not very thirsty even for the modern crop of minicars, and with the economy as uncertain as ever and everyday gas prices over $3 per gallon, that's something you can bank on.

Inside, it's mostly good news, though that rear seat is little more than lip service for the average American. Set your packages back there and resolve yourself to owning a two-seater. The front seats aren't much better, with those of us over six feet likely to feel the tall roof looming near above our heads, thanks to the high seats. The hatch area is likewise very small. But hey, this is a subcompact. Spaces are going to be tight. The materials, on the other hand, are mostly good, and the colorful, clever cabin design is refreshing in a way that doesn't feel like it'll be dated by next spring.

The engine will produce around 15kgm of torque like other 1.5 litre powertrains. The engine will be incorporated with a 5 speed manual gearbox. It is also clubbed with 4 cylinders and 16 valves.

The much-awaited Nissan Sunny is expected to be launched in India with two engine options: petrol and diesel. The car will house 1.5 litre, 4 cylinder, powertrain that will develop top power of 107.5 bhp and 146 NM of speculated torque. The mill will be mated to a manual five speed transmission. 2011 Volvo S60

Forget everything you thought you knew about Volvo when it comes to performance sedans. The 2011 S60 is a driver's sport luxury sedan, with fresh new looks and a host of high-tech safety aids you won't find elsewhere. MotorAuthority rates the 2011 S60 8 out of 10.

With its all-new design punched up all over the Internet with an eye-popping orange exterior color (which really comes off well in real life, too) the S60 might be the most recognizable Volvo currently available. Rakish, thoroughly modern yet neither too understated or dramatic, the 2011 S60 strikes a unique and attractive balance. Inside, it's more of the same, with a waterfall center stack hiding a convenient storage cubby, excellent materials and textures, and attractive color schemes.

Performance from the single available engine is excellent. The T6 turbocharged inline six-cylinder 3.0-liter engine feels strong than its 300-horsepower rating, with boost building quickly at low rpms and pulling healthily to redline. The six-speed automatic transmission is perfectly happy to be left to mind itself, but the steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters enable the driver to snap off surprisingly crisp shifts with ease as well.

Despite a fair amount of body roll--as much as you'll find in a typical 3-Series or C-Class--the steering is responsive and offers a unique three-position adjustment for the amount of power assist, ranging from light and easy to heavy and direct. You can even program your own personal preference of steering, transmission, and throttle response and activate it with the touch of a button. Overall grip is impressive, direction changes are quick and ready, yet back off the hard-driving edge and the S60 morphs easily into a calm, composed cruiser.

Features in the S60 are also top-tier luxury-class fare. The controls are all easy-to-use, with unique pictographic HVAC controls front-and-center. Base 2011 S60s include heated outside mirrors, a trip computer, dual-zone climate control, power driver's seat, steering-wheel audio controls, Sirius Satellite Radio, auxiliary audio and USB inputs, and a 160-watt audio system with HD Radio. Opt for a higher spec and you can add an Audyssey Laboratories 12-speaker digital-amp sound system, iPhone connectivity, navigation, real-time traffic, rear park assist, heated seats, headlight washers, rain-sensing wipers, and headlight washers among other add-ons. Most of these are bundled into a few core packages.

In terms of comfort and space, the cabin is good, but not great. For those over six feet, even the front seats can be a bit cramped, but, oddly for the mid-sized sedan sector, the rear seat accomodates six-footers with relative ease thanks to rear seating positions carved into the bench, which is itself lower than usual, meaning both headroom and legroom are quite good.

2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata

The 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata follows a special formula that's made this model a standout in the market for more than two decades: bring a classic roadster look into the modern age with excellent reliability, great handling—and now, the past couple of years, a weather-tight optional power-folding hardtop. The catch is that there aren't a lot of frills—but plenty of thrills, for sure.

The Miata remains available in two models: a soft-top roadster and a Power Retractable Hard Top model. While most hardtops end up sacrificing some of the beauty or proportions and in a sense ruining the design, the hardtop edition is good-looking too

Not much has changed with respect to the 2011 Mazda MX-5's appearance, and that's a good thing. Yes, you'll hear from some critics that the design is a little conservative and maybe a little on the soft side, but few people can deny that it's about the purest sports car design there is. And Mazda has kept is just enough on pace with its other designs, adding flared fenders and slightly more edgy details. Inside, the Miata feels basic but cheerful, with exactly the layout you'd expect for a classic sports car. Large, round gauges greet the driver front and center, and a short shift knob sits in easy reach. Chrome and silver accents have added a little more to the cabin look in recent years.

Just as the 2011 Mazda MX-5 Miata carries on the look and feel of a classic British roadster, it delivers those wind-in-hair thrills with even better-than-expected performance. The 2010 Miata's four-cylinder engine—a 167-hp, 2.0-liter four—is very responsive and rev-happy, with sports car-perfect handling, quick short-ratio steering, and short-throw manual transmissions that are a joy to run through the gears. It's not a lot of power, but since the Miata weighs less than 2,600 pounds it can nevertheless get to 60 mph in about seven seconds. A near perfect 50/50 weight distribution makes its handling predictable, and the quick-ratio steering is both secure at speed and extremely fast for parking or emergency maneuvers. The Miata handles like a go-kart at low speeds and shows a surprising degree of poise for higher track speeds.

The standard soft top is easy to use and surprisingly weather-tight. Just flick the header latches and flip it over the shoulder (most will be able to use one arm) into a shallow holding area. The only downside of the soft top is noise; the Miata's top isn't as well-insulated as some pricier soft tops, and you'll get a fair amount of wind and road noise on the highway.

Feature-wise, the Miata has just enough to satisfy most shoppers, but it lacks some items, depending on the trim level. Anti-lock brakes, along with seat-mounted side airbags, are on the standard-equipment list. But electronic stability control—now thought of as an essential safety feature, especially on cars that might be driven in a spirited fashion or ones that aren't as secure on slippery roads—still isn't standard on all models. Make sure you do get an MX-5 with it.

Standard equipment, at least in terms of comforts, is about on par with that of budget-conscious small cars; features on all models include power windows, power mirrors, a CD player, and tilt steering. Touring models include upgraded wheels and tires, a trip computer, keyless entry, and cruise control, while Grand Touring models add leather trim, heated seats, and automatic climate control, among other features. Options include the six-speed automatic, Sirius Satellite Radio, steering-wheel audio controls, and a sport suspension.

In SuperCrew form, the 2011 Ford F-150 can comfortably seat four people. Then Cargo-carrying capacity in the SuperCrew’s cab is also excellent. The SuperCab is still fairly roomy, but legroom is noticeably less generous. Its rear-hinged clamshell doors are also less useful than the traditional front-hinged doors of the Tundra and Ram.

All F-150s feature simple controls and good-quality materials (by full-size truck standards). The navigation system includes an 8-inch screen with impressive clarity. Lower trims have a standard 40/20/40-split bench seat with a column shifter, while the upper trims feature captain’s chairs and a console shifter.
